Things To Know About Canouan
As your feet sink into the powder-white sand and you feel the mist of the sea in the air, you will say a quit thank you for Canouan. Located just south of St. Vincent, this crescent shaped island offers spectacular views and excellent windsurfing, snorkeling and scuba diving. Breathe in the sweet smell of Frangipane in bloom as you hike along the trails and delight in pure peace and tranquility. It's a getaway known by only a privileged few. You can always end your day with an evening in one of the island's many dazzling casinos and restaurants.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: A valid U.S. passport is recommended. However, an original Birth Certificate with a raised seal or a certified copy together with a photo ID is also acceptable. However, by the beginning of 2006, only a valid U.S. passport will be accepted.

LANGUAGE: English

CURRENCY: Eastern Caribbean Dollar.

ELECTRICITY: 220-240 volts/50AC, or 110 volts/60 cycles.

TAXES & OTHER CHARGES: There is an seven percent (7%) government room tax and a service charge of ten percent (10%). There is a departure tax of $12.00 U.S.

CLIMATE: Canouan has a rainy season which runs from May through November, but for the most part you can enjoy the beautiful tropical weather. The average temperature if 83°F.

TIPPING: Ten percent (10%) service charge is usually added to restaurant bills.
